A gentle space to do the deeper work

Dallas based therapist specializing in support for eating disorders and trauma

I believe our past experiences and relationships can shape our present day behaviors and beliefs. When we experience trauma, we can develop ways of coping that work well in the short term, but are unsustainable and misaligned with our true selves.

I want to honor and understand how these ways of coping have kept you safe as we gently begin to heal the hurt parts they have protected you from. We can then start to rebuild trust and confidence in you and learn new ways to keep you safe.

Hey there, I’m Michelle.

I offer individual therapy to adults with eating disorders and those navigating eating disorder recovery. I also support new moms, folks with histories of trauma, sexual abuse or assault, and complex families of origin. I am LGBTQ+ affirming, I think diets are bullshit, and I believe in health at every size (HAES).

I approach therapy sessions with genuine curiosity; I truly want to know you. In the space we create together, there is no pressure to entertain me or present a certain way.

I am here for you as you are, in this moment. And baby, I’m glad you’re here.

Guiding Beliefs

I am EMDR trained, practice through a trauma informed lens, and am guided by concepts from psychodynamic and family-systems theories. I’m a relational therapist, which means I highly value and respect the relationship we create together. I also believe our interactions in session can be both informative and healing. For many folks, the therapeutic relationship is one of the first that feels truly safe.

Therapy Approach

I believe that our past relationships and experiences impact how we show up in the present. They can shape the beliefs and narratives we have about ourselves and others. In our work together, you get to decide whether those beliefs and behaviors are still serving you. If they’re not, we get to explore how to shift them while gently tending to the past traumas and hurts that contributed to them.
